Re-evaluate your battery charging |
![]() |
| Think about it. When you get into your car, switch on the
engine and drive off, you have no worries about your batteries going flat
as you travel (using lights, radio, heater etc.) because you know the car's
alternator is charging your batteries as you drive. Wouldn't it be great if you could charge your yacht's batteries in the same effortless way, not by running the engine of course, but by utilising the natural energy that moves the yacht along? DuoGen allows you to do just that. It's an entirely new concept in renewable energy generation that lets you take control, and generate power as you use it. As you leave the harbour, before or after you put up your sails, you can take a moment to exchange the wind turbine for the water impeller unit (no tools needed), then undo the tower clamp and lower DuoGen back into the water. The unit is towed behind the yacht as you sail, taking just a little of the power gathered by the sails to continuously produce enough electricity to run your radio, lights, auto-pilot, radar, 'fridge We think the car analogy is very apt. Think about it. |

PS. Do you ever have problems finding information about marinas? Have a look at www.marina-info.com. You'll find listings of over 400 UK marinas and thousands worldwide.
PPS. Have you noticed how often the subject of 'sustainable energy' comes up
in the Press these days? We were reading about the World Summit on Sustainable
Development which takes place in Johannesburg in August. Tony Blair was, apparently,
the first world leader to promise to be there, and he is expected to be a key
figure.
Signs of global warming increase, climate change is affecting us all, and yet,
it seems, not enough is happening and with the necessary sense of urgency.
You can be a bit proud of yourself because you own at least one machine powered
by sustainable energy - your yacht. Perhaps you could think again about having
another!
