DuoGen - August 2005 Newsletter

If you’re feeling that summer is almost over, here’s something to cheer you up!

The theme of the Southampton International Boat Show, which runs from 16th to 25th September this year, is "10 Brilliant Days by the Sea".
There will be a “spectacular beach village in the heart of the show”, featuring fashion shows, sand castle competitions, beach games, food and drink – there really will be something for all the family.
And if you are not so keen on the feeling of sand between your toes, there are plenty more attractions!

  • see Sir Francis Chichester’s record-breaking yacht, Gypsy Moth IV, on the Marina .
  • be part of the crew on an America’s Cup yacht for two hours.
  • try a Honda Powerboat. Cougar RIBs will be going out every hour to be put through their paces.
  • watch a demonstration by HM Coast Guard

The very popular "Try-a-Boat" feature is available again this year. You need to get to the booking office early each day in order to "have a go" on the boat of your choice.
The quickest way there when you come through the Show entrance is down the right side aisle in Solent Hall, which takes you right past the DuoGen stand! If you don’t stop first time, make sure you come back!
Of course, the real reason to visit the show is to see all the craft on the extended Marina, and to browse around the stands which offer everything the yachtsman needs.

The Green Blue

On Monday 19th September at the Southampton Boat Show the BMF and RYA will launch its exciting new environmental initiative for the recreational marine community.
As part of the launch The Green Blue will feature on the BMF and RYA stand. Staff on the stand will be talking to visitors about the project and offering practical advice on how to reduce your environmental impact.
Part of the stand will be made out of recycled marine products.
To find out how you can be kinder to the environment when on board your boat, come along to the BMF/RYA stand next to the Marina .

Terrestrial Wind Turbines

Eclectic Energy will also be at Resource 05, the UK ’s major showcase for renewable and energy efficient technologies for buildings, held at the Building Research Establishment at Watford .
We will exhibit the ‘StealthGen’, the D400’s low visibility variant which is aimed at the growing new market for building mounted microwind turbines.
StealthGen produces mains quality power through a grid-tied inverter, and is capable of generating one fifth of a typical home’s electricity.
Installation of one StealthGen benefits the environment, saving over a quarter of a tonne of carbon dioxide emission annually.
Install five units, and you can run all your electrics, and save over a tonne of carbon dioxide!

For more information, see www.resource05.com

See the DuoGen-2 and the D400 on Stand A151 in Solent Hall.

We have a new-look stand for this Show, and look forward to welcoming you to a demonstration of our better-than–ever DuoGen-2.
The D400 Wind Generator has been selling well, and owners have complimented its extreme quietness and efficiency.
The D400 and the DuoGen-2 are fairly new products. If you’ve not yet seen them, come along to Stand A151 and talk to us about these great machines and how they can provide solutions to your on-board energy problems.
