We recently received this picture from an Italian customer after they used the DuoGen (original model) on their Atlantic crossing.
They wrote:
“You can find here attached a photo of our Baltic 42DP's cockpit. As you can see, our Duogen is in water mode, currently feeding: refrigerator, computer, autopilot, GPS, music. During night sailing, to all these devices we also added cabin lights, navigation lights and radar.
After 14 days of Atlantic crossing, average 6,5 knots, our batteries showed 14 volts and were fully charged!
We also used it in combination with our wind pilot with no interference at all between the two, and also no problem occurred when fishing.”

Wind Generator test

Earlier this year, our German distributor, Georg Seifert (of ShipShop) was asked by ‘Palstek’ magazine to organise and carry out a comparative test of the small wind turbines available to yachtsmen. The DuoGen and the D400 were included in the test.
The resulting article was published in October in issue 6/2006.
Yet again, of the 11 units on test, the D400 was found to be the most powerful and productive unit at both lower and higher wind speeds. That is despite the fact that 4 of the machines on test had larger rotor diameters!
The D400 was also commended for its quiet, vibration-free operation, a result of its low RPM (revolutions per minute) air blades and alternator design.

The London Boat Show 2007 runs from 5 th – 17 th January. The show has a ‘completely new look’ with an ‘Island Nation’ theme from the moment you enter ExCel in Docklands. The organisers say that the focus is to be ‘fun and exciting’ as well as ‘educational’.
