New on the DuoGen web site

We spend a lot of time here in the office answering queries from yachtsmen about various issues related to DuoGen.
We have begun to compile some information sheets, based on the most frequently asked questions, and these will appear on the web site over the next few weeks.
Look for the page 'Frequently asked questions' in the menu.

DuoGen on Tao

Here's a splash of sunshine, courtesy of a DuoGen customer
who has the good fortune to be sailing around Cuba and
heading for the Mexican coast.
This interesting snippet appeared in a recent e-mail from him:

"I have to tell you this story.
We were anchored near a boat equipped with one of your competitors' wind powered generators and the screech from his generator far eclipsed the DuoGen's whoosh even though it was closer to us.
Cannot tell you the name but the initials were ****."

I wonder which machine he was referring to?

By the way David is very happy to share some of
his experiences 'en voyages'.
Log on to his web site www.taoyacht.com
If you go to www.spiderwebnet.net and click on DuoGen Wind/Water Powered Generator, you can read David's 'review'of DuoGen, strictly for fellow yachtsmen.

Getting the most out of DuoGen in Water Mode

Larger yachts and multihulls often achieve higher boat speeds, and therefore require a water impeller with a different performance envelope to the standard. This is necessary in order to keep both outputs and drag within reasonable limits for the usual cruising speeds of these boats.

Eclectic Energy is currently working with the skipper of a TRT 1200 catamaran towards an optimised water impeller for cruising cats, and he is collecting information by evaluating a modified coarse pitch impeller.

Our intention in the near future is to be able
to offer a low solidity, low drag, high speed impeller specifically for catamarans, trimarans and fast monohulls.
