Choosing the right DuoGen for your yacht

We have recently introduced a small but useful addition to the Installation and Maintenance page on our web site. It is a schematic entitled, “Guide to selecting the right DuoGen”, and gives a good indication of which size DuoGen is appropriate for your yacht, by referring to the freeboard and the boat length.
Of course, there are likely to be cases where the guide does not apply, for example, if there is a stern arch to take into account.
Also, please note that we now refer to our tower lengths as ‘Short’, ‘Long’ and ‘Extra Long’.

Marks out of ten for the DuoGen -10

Back in June 03, we reported the departure of the Calver family on the trip of a life time on their yacht ‘Finale’.
We have heard from them from time to time, and they are all fit and well, and having a great time.
Having cruised the Mediterranean and the Canaries, they have crossed the Atlantic and have just arrived in Barbados.
Will Calver recently e-mailed us with the comment you see above. He also says this of his DuoGen. “It has kept up with our power needs in conjunction with the solar panels and diesel generator but of all the kit on the boat it rates as one of the most used and reliable.” Read more here...

ExCel-lent!!!

The fiftieth London International Boat Show opens this week at Europe’s state-of-the-art exhibition centre, ExCel in Docklands. The Show is twice the size of last year and has all the advantages of an indoors venue (especially important in January!) while featuring waterside exhibits on the Royal Victoria Dock. Here you can explore tall ships, naval craft and historic boats.
For the livelier members of the family, there is the fabulous Watersports Arena where you can watch demonstrations, or better still, have a go with the help of trained instructors.
If you prefer a more leisurely pace, you can enjoy a drink in the real-ale waterside pub beside the life-size jetties in the Inland Waterways attraction.
There is no doubt that this is a show not to be missed.
You can browse the bigger-than-ever selection of stands, featuring all the equipment you could need for all kinds of watersports.
And when you need to take a break, there is a huge choice of bars, restaurants and cafes in the central Boulevard. Or you can relax in one of the piazzas in the main exhibition halls. There are even waterfront bars, and for the traditionalists, the famous Boat Show Guiness Bar!
