Yet Another Boat Jumble...

Potential customers who contact us often ask where they can see a DuoGen before they commit to buy.
This is a very reasonable request. DuoGen has been on the market a year now, but it’s still not a common sight in every marina.
One way that we can demonstrate to more yachtsmen the unique operation and benefits of DuoGen is to take a machine to various Boat Jumbles around the country.
So, on Sunday 8th June 2003, we’ll be at the South Essex Boat Jumble, at Eastwood Nursery, on the A127 Eastwood, Essex, just east of Rayleigh Weir. The jumble opens at 10 am. Phone 01268 511186 for details.

We will also have a selection of Desivent Anti-Damp Products available on our stand. Buy them at the show and you save on postage costs as well as benefitting from special show prices!

Bon Voyage

to the Calver family who left Chatham Marina last month on their yacht ‘Finale’.
Will and Catherine Calver have done what most of us only dream of – they have sold up, and plan to take themselves and their two children on a three year trip, travelling the world wherever the fancy takes them.
First port of call is in Ireland visiting relatives, then they’re off to Gibraltar.
Will and Catherine are not sure where they’ll be heading next, but that is all part of the adventure.
Of course, one aspect of the trip that has been thoroughly planned and prepared for is the equipment aboard ‘Finale’, as she is going to be their home, for the next three years.
Will and Catherine were one of DuoGen’s first customers last year. They have used the system during several extended cruises, and are delighted with it. Now, they’ll be relying on DuoGen to keep their ship’s batteries charged, and their electrical equipment running during this, their trip of a life time.
We wish them all the best and safe sailing!

Government Support for UK Offshore Wind

Energy Minister Brian Wilson has announced substantial capital grants for offshore development projects around the British Isles, at sites off North Wales, Cumbria, North Kent and the Solway Firth.
The new projects will create more than 500 wind turbines, generating 1500 MW of electricity, which is 1.5% of the UK's energy requirements.
The Minister made his announcement at the British Wind Energy Association’s Offshore Wind 2003 conference in London on 26 March.
He stressed that a much bigger contribution from renewable energy is needed if we are to achieve the target (set out in the Energy White Paper earlier this year) of cutting carbon emissions by 60% by the year 2050.
