DuoGen had a great Show where a record 143,000 visitors attended a feature-packed event in warm Autumn sunshine.
It was great to see so many of you on our stand. We are in communication with lots of people, and it’s good to be able to put faces to names!
The team was kept busy, demonstrating DuoGen and answering questions from a stream of eager potential customers. As ever, when DuoGen makes a ‘public appearance’, the universal response from yachtsmen was of great interest and enthusiasm. Several visitors to the stand said that DuoGen was the most exciting product they had seen at the Show.
We have a very full order book as a result of the Show, and are already looking forward to the London Boat Show in January 2004, at its new venue at ExCel.

The DuoGen Club

No, it’s not official, but we do hear about small groups of DuoGen owners who seem to be getting together on their travels. The skippers report a lot of interest in DuoGen whenever they tie up in a new location.
We also know that at least five of the participants in this year’s ARC are DuoGen owners.

October Damp Alert

Here in the UK it’s been a wonderful summer, and let us hope that there are going to be a lot more glorious autumn days to enjoy this year.
However, many yachtsmen are now planning to lay up their boat for the winter.
It is at this time of year that your yacht becomes particularly vulnerable to damp, which leads to the danger of mould growing on upholstery etc. as well as books and charts. Accelerated rust and other damage also occurs.
Now is a good time to check out our range of ‘Damp Stoppers’ . Particularly useful is the Damp and Mould Alert – this simple to use product (which draws no electrical power) absorbs initial excess moisture, and gives an alert, in the form of a red indicator, if further action is required. You may then increase background heating or use a dehumidifier (see our extremely compact Powered Mini-Dehumidifier).

A final thought … the recent wide-scale power failures in North America, Italy and parts of Europe are very disconcerting. There are a variety of reasons for these failures, but they do remind us that we have to take on the issues of energy sustainability.
