Southampton Boat Show (12th to 21st September 2008)
Here at Eclectic Energy we are hoping for Indian Summer weather at this year’s Southampton Boat Show, held as usual at Mayflower Park. National Boat Shows are celebrating the 40th Southampton show, and this anniversary forms the theme of many of the events on and around the Main Stage. (see www.southamptonboatshow.com)
The Southampton Boat Show always guarantees an entertaining day out, and this year the emphasis is more than ever on participation.
Europe’s largest Show marina has over 350 vessels, including feature boats such as the Ocean Pirate, a 40 year old power boat, a tall ship, and a scientific research vessel, the Callista.
Among the many attractions is the exciting new H2O Zone. Situated in Solent Park, near the Guiness Bar, the Calshott Activities Centre lets you go canoeing, kayaking and dinghy sailing, watch professional demonstrations, even try a sailing simulator – all for free!
The popular ‘Try a Boat’ feature, your opportunity to get out on the water in a variety of boats to suit all tastes, is bigger and better than ever. Just go to stand B85 in the Arena section to book your turn.
The Main Stage and Screen is situated at the heart of the Show (not far from Ocean Hall), and there will be a full programme of events to enjoy each day. The area conveniently includes a Food Village.
There is, of course, the usual selection of places to eat, from a taste of Cunard Cuisine to fish and chips.
Last but not least are the exhibitor stands where you can browse for boating accessories and equipment of all kinds. The best thing about buying at the Show, apart from the range of goods on display, is being able to talk to the people on the stands who can tell you everything you need to know before you buy.
We hope you’ll take the time to visit Stand G46 in Ocean Hall to see the DuoGen and the D400. We have moved from last year, and you will find us on a corner stand near the middle of the hall. If you have still not had an opportunity to see a demonstration of the wonderful and innovative DuoGen, this is your chance.
And, if you have been thinking about the possibility of renewable energy in your home, talk to us about the StealthGen microwind system.
We look forward to meeting new and old customers on Stand G46.
